As a self-taught educator and mum of two teenagers, both with very different personalities, interests and strengths, I've learned that what works for one child, does not necessarily work for another.
I can't recount the timeless hours I've spent looking for educational resources covering specific topics over the years. Over time, I've become expert at knowing where to look for the best resources.
When my daughter was studying for her GCSEs, I became the go-to parent among her friends, when it came to finding revision resources. One parent commented at the time: '
You should really make a business out of this, I know I'd certainly pay for your services!'
So that's what I have done.
I can take out the pain of finding the right resources, the right syllabus, the right revision aid, at every stage levels of learning academic learning. I understand the time and effort to source relevant, educational material which brings to life, difficult concepts.
There simply are so many online resources (some good, some not so good), which absolutely anyone can access - but it does take time to find them. If you simply want to find a specific resource and don't have the time to do it yourself, then I can help.
Many parents simply don't have the time, or inclination. This type of Educational Research, which started out as a resource to help my own children, has now become my full-time career.
My family and I have always had the greatest love for learning!
While both of my children attended excellent state schools, in order to reach their true potential, I felt it was entirely necessary to support their learning at home.
But they didn't just require tutoring in one particular subject, even at primary school, it was all about enhancing their learning with additional resources, as well as teaching them how to use the resources which work best for them. And so I became their personal tutor.
I certainly don't believe my children are exceptional, but they have learned how to learn. As a result both have achieved exceptional GCSE results. But don't just take me word for it...
"For me, learning is about understanding things in a fun and memorable way. When my brother and I were younger we attended 'Mummy School' during our school holidays - where we carried out all sorts of exciting 360 projects, learning to research, reading books, playing games, putting on plays, creating oversized artwork and project books.
All of the activities were designed by Mum (my greatest teacher!!) to support a deeper understanding of whatever subject we decided we wanted to learn more about."
